Gosford Park

Tea at Four. Dinner at Eight. Murder at Midnight. Set in 1932 in the magnificent country house belonging to Sir William McCordle - relations and friends gather for a weekend shooting party. As the guests assemble in the gilded drawing rooms above, the servants are hard at work in the kitchens and corridors below-stairs. Part comedy of manners and part mystery, the film is a moving portrait of events that bridge generations, class, sex and tragic personal history - that culminates in a murder.
